Another Sad Day

The administration has set refugee admissions for 2020 at a devastating 18,000, cutting refugee admissions to an unprecedented historic low and further decimating the refugee resettlement program.
For nearly four decades, the average number of refugees admitted to the US each year has been 95,000.
After a virtual shutdown of the U.S. asylum system, this announcement comes as a tragic blow not only to vulnerable people fleeing violence and persecution, but also to this country’s humanitarian legacy.
In addition, the President has issued an executive order allowing states and local governments to deny entry to refugees already approved for travel from entering those states.
This is nothing short of a refugee ban.

The Administration is constricting the heart of America, and ignoring the Golden Rule. We are better than this! Compared to the 4-decade average of nearly 100,000 THIS IS ATROCIOUS!

The official announcement is here:
It may be historically true, as State Department says, "the United States is the most compassionate and generous nation in history." But it is no longer the case.
